Hi subscriber,

I’m excited and a little scared.

For over six years, I’ve spent part of my time each week training church planters as part of my ministry.

Starting next week (February 1), I’m ending that role so I can devote time to developing the ministry of Gospel for Life.

I’m excited to see what comes from this additional focus, but I know I’d appreciate your prayers.

One Actionable Insight

In all the talk about discipleship, we sometimes miss the importance of the ordinary means of grace.

The Westminster Catechism says:

What are the outward means whereby Christ communicates to us the benefits of redemption?

The outward and ordinary means whereby Christ communicates to us the benefits of redemption, are his ordinances, especially the Word, sacraments, and prayer; all which are made effectual to the elect for salvation.

We need more than the ordinary means, but not less. The place to start in our growth — and in helping others grow — is to ensure that they’re regularly benefiting from these means in their lives.

Takeaway: Don’t underestimate the ordinary means of grace.

Questions: What means are not a regular part of your life? How can you change that?
