Hi [subscriber:firstname | default:subscriber],

Welcome to the first Gospel for Life newsletter! Our purpose is to help churches make disciples.

I’ve wanted to start this email for a long time, but I don’t want to add unnecessary clutter to your email inbox. But I think I’ve found a format that can work.

At the end of every month, I’ll send you one actionable discipleship insight, four links to articles we like, and a list of recent and upcoming G4L podcast episodes.

Ideas? Suggestions? Feedback? Just hit “reply”. I’d love to hear from you!

One Actionable Insight

Jen Pollock Michel’s new book A Habit Called Faith was inspired by a quote from Pascal: “You want to be cured of unbelief and you ask for the remedy: learn from those who were once bound like you and now wager all they have. . . . They behaved just as if they did believe, taking holy water, having masses said, and so on. That will make you believe quite naturally.”

Michel comments, “Faith may have as much to do with habits as epiphanies.”

Takeaway: “Don’t just try thinking your way into faith …Try practicing your way into faith. Go to church, follow the liturgy, act the part. Let habit take you by the hand and lead you to God.” Michel applies this to unbelievers and believers.

Faith can lead to habits. But sometimes habits lead us to faith.

Question: What practices can you implement right now that could lead you (and those you lead) to greater faith?
